Day 80 (7/9) - Simple Man

Day 80 - 25.3 mi/1185.2 mi tot
Stony Mtn to 501 Shelter
The rain last night made for a significantly cooler day today and a goos day for the big miles I had planned. Overall, nothing spectacular, just a number of instances of trail magic in the form of water jugs mostly, which were a big help given the number of dry springs and streams.
Ended up at the 501 shelter, a converted potters building sharing a lot with some local residents who also serve as caretakers for the shelter. It is almost more like a hostel than a shelter with a bunch of bunks, running water and a solar shower. Not a bad place to spend the night especially with more thundershowers predicted for the evening.
A nice simple all in one end to a simple day. There is something nice about being out here living with what is on my back and what I carry. A neat reminder of how complicated "real life" can be.
Into Port Clinton tomorrow and a very short day planned for Sunday as I try to find a place to watch some of the World Cup finals in the afternoon.
Don't you worry, you'll find yourself, follow your heart and nothing else (except white blazes).
