Day 69 (6/28) - Roller Coaster of Love

Day 69 - 14.1 mi/995.2 mi tot
Ashby Gap (US 50) to Snickers Gap (VA 7)

So, first things first, happy anniversary to my Mom and Dad. Hope they are having a great time on Cape Cod during their annual vacation time there.

On to less important things, the hike today went through a part of Virginia called "the roller coaster". This is probably the place where the term "PUD" was coined. PUD is the acronym for pointless ups and downs and that is all I did today...climb up a hill just to drop down the other side. All the while hiking on the side of a ridge with a great valley on one side and a great ridge on the other. This is the definition of pointless. No views, no cool riverside walking and climbing just for the sake of climbing a hill. Still a few more miles of the roller coaster to finish up on Wednesday, but not until a rest day tomorrow. Should be a good break and with a bunch of friends.

Love is like a roller coaster baby I wanna ride
