Day 77 (7/6) - People of the Sun

Day 77 - 22.0 mi/1130.9 mi tot
Little Dogwood Run to Stream 3.7 mi S of Cove Mtn Shelter
This will be short since I am sweating while I write this. This heat is miserable and the walk today through a bunch of open fields in the Cumberland Valley was something less than fun. Right now this ranks as the least fun day on the trail so far.
A few saving graces for the day:
1) getting through most of the field walking by 10 am helped (had to be walking by 5:45 am to make that happen)
2) municipal water sources along the way so I didn't have to pump
3) a cooler full of beers at one of the road crossings
4) the knowledge that I only have 7.7 miles to go in the morning to get into Duncannon
Ugh, still sweating, who knew typing was an exertion sport?
Its coming back around again this is for the people of the sun.

  1. Typo in the mileage marker (1030.9 miles total) or:

(1)did you get sent back 100 miles for complaining about the heat; or (2) taking more than your far share of beer's from that trail magic; (3) you are counting down the miles to completion.

Voting for the typo here...you can blame it on the heat or fat fingers in the Peek.

Always enjoy reading your postings. Just remember, that from this point forward it isn't as far as it has been.

  2. Thanks Mike...I was so used to typing the 0 there I just plain screwed it up. THanks for the catch.
